Noteworthy Information: In 2015, legislature enacted SB 280, which allows a person who obtained cannabis oil lawfully in another state to possess it in Tennessee but one must have “proof of the legal order or recommendation from the issuing state”. It must contain less than 0.9% THC; no minimum amount of CBD is required. The sponsor of a 2018 bill that would legally allow qualifying Tennesseans to use medical cannabis killed the proposal due to lack of support. Lawmakers filed over 30 marijuana-related bills during the 2017-2018 legislative session but none were enacted.
